The Office of Budget, Planning and Analysis will be once again conducting Quality Training for interested UW-Stout Faculty/Staff. This semester's topic is "Evaluation and Measurement", led by Dr. Meridith Wentz, Director of Budget, Planning and Analysis. The training will be held on Wednesday, April 21, from 12:30 – 4:00 in the Maple/Oak rooms of the Memorial Student Center. More information is available at http://www3.uwstout.edu/bpa/training.cfm
The Chancellor is asking for your ideas on University Priorities that you think should be initiated in fall 2010. University Priorities should share the following characteristics:
- They align with one or more of the FOCUS 2015 goals
- They zero in on one specific initiative
- They can be completed in a two year timeframe
Ideas for possible University Priorities and action plans should be submitted electronically here no later than April 16, 2010. Your feedback will be shared with the Strategic Planning Group in preparation for the retreat, and also with the appropriate action plan leader.
UW-Stout has been conducting salary studies since 1990-91. The 2009-10 Faculty and Academic Staff Salary Study is now available online.
The study's purpose is multi-fold and involves the following:
- Examine salaries at Stout by using internal salary models
- Provide national comparison of Stout salaries
- Determine if gender, race/ethnicity, individual, and departmental inequities exists
- Determine market equity
- Highlight emerging issues

The next EDGE session will be held on Tuesday, April 6th from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Price Commons, room 144/146.
This session will highlight budget data from 2008-09, including an overview of the sources of funding at UW- Stout, and relevant budget data for general program operations, program revenue and program revenue federal. An overview of BPA's website and the university budget process will also be provided. The internal audit portion of this session will provide an overview of internal audit, types of audits, internal controls and failures, and risk assessment. An audit schedule will also be provided.
