Job Title:

  • Graphics Designer (All positions currently filled)

Hours:

  • 15 - 20 hours/week (Summer hours available)

Rate of pay:

  • Depends on qualifications. Probationary period applies.

Job Summary:

  • University Housing is seeking a Graphic Designer who is creative and shows initiative. Background in graphic design or currently enrolled in the graphic design degree program is required. This is a great opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to a real world setting and work with professionals to develop projects. Graphic designers will get copies of projects that they create to incorporate into their portfolios.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have at least two semesters of student employment eligibility
  • Have a graphic design background or currently a graphic design major
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a flexible work schedule to meet operations needs
  • Strong experience with Adobe CS4 (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Ability to color separate documents designs
  • Digital photography experience is a plus
  • Video editing/filmaking experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Design promotional materials (posters, magnets, cups) to support University Housing programs and events
  • Work with professional Housing staff to bring marketing concepts to life
  • Attend meetings scheduled by Design Coordinator
  • Create informational brochures and booklets with University Housing policies and procedures
  • Update and organize University Housing stock photography files
  • Work with a Web Designer to maintain images on the University Housing website
  • Create and maintain bulletin boards and display cases
  • Maintain a pleasant work attitude, and open communication with "clients"
  • Communication with commercial printing businesses
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned
