Job Summary:
- University Housing is seeking a Graphic Designer who is creative and shows initiative. Background in graphic design or currently enrolled in the graphic design degree program is required. This is a great opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to a real world setting and work with professionals to develop projects. Graphic designers will get copies of projects that they create to incorporate into their portfolios.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Have at least two semesters of student employment eligibility
- Have a graphic design background or currently a graphic design major
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
- Have a flexible work schedule to meet operations needs
- Strong experience with Adobe CS4 (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Ability to color separate documents designs
- Digital photography experience is a plus
- Video editing/filmaking experience is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Design promotional materials (posters, magnets, cups) to support University Housing programs and events
- Work with professional Housing staff to bring marketing concepts to life
- Attend meetings scheduled by Design Coordinator
- Create informational brochures and booklets with University Housing policies and procedures
- Update and organize University Housing stock photography files
- Work with a Web Designer to maintain images on the University Housing website
- Create and maintain bulletin boards and display cases
- Maintain a pleasant work attitude, and open communication with "clients"
- Communication with commercial printing businesses
- Other responsibilities and projects as assigned
