Scheduling the Nakatani Lab
- The Nakatani Center for Learning Technology Services lab is for the use of faculty and staff, it is not a student lab.
- To scheduling time to use the Nakatani Lab for Learning Technology Services, contact Margy Ingram at ingramm@uwstout.edu or call her at 232-1289.
- Users may schedule the lab on a first come-first served basis for faculty and staff training activities. However, we reserve the right to reschedule a previously scheduled activity, under extenuating circumstances.
- Groups of 30 or less can be accommodated in the Nakatani Lab.
- If you need to cancel a scheduled session, please notify Margy Ingram at ingramm@uwstout.edu or call her at 232-1289 as soon as possible. Failure to continually cancel unused lab time may result in the lab not being available for your use.
- Lab computers are loaded with the software from the Stout image.
- To use specialized software that is not normally available in the lab, you must contact Margy Ingram (232-1289) to determine if the software can be placed on the equipment.
- The scheduling unit is responsible for legally obtaining any software that is not normally provided in the Lab and delivering it to Margy Ingram at least two weeks prior to its scheduled use. This will allow time for us to install and test the software.
- Any software installed for specialized training will be removed after the training session is completed unless prior arrangements have been made with Margy Ingram (232-1289).
- Training on the use of the lab will be provided to new users. Contact Margy Ingram to arrange for training or to discuss your needs concerning your use of the Nakatani Lab.
Using the Nakatani Lab
- The door of the Nakatani Lab is always locked to discourage unauthorized users and theft.
- The person who reserved the room should enter the Nakatani Lab through room 105 Millennium Hall. At that time the main door of the lab may be opened for participants to enter.
- The computers remain on at all times. If a computer looks like it is off, wiggle the mouse-that will wake it up!
- If someone accidentally turns a computer off, please see Margy Ingram to have the password entered.
- Either Margy Ingram or one of the Nakatani employees will check with the instructor prior to the beginning of a scheduled activity to see if we can be of any assistance.
- At the end of a class session the instructor is responsible for shutting down the projection equipment and screen using the touch panel on the teaching console properly and cleaning the dry erase board.
- If trouble is experienced in the lab, contact Margy Ingram immediately.
