If you want to change your Learn@UW-Stout (D2L) password, you will first need to request to have your email password changed as both systems use the same password. Once your email password has been changed, it will automatically be updated in Learn@UW-Stout (D2L) that night.
When I log in to Learn@UW-Stout, I can't see the courses that I'm enrolled in.If you have 25 courses or less in Learn@ UW-Stout (D2L), you will see a header for each term. If the term header has a + to the left of the term name, you must click on the + to expand the term and see your courses.
If you have more than 25 courses, you will see a Search For textbox. Clicking the Search button will take you to the Search My Courses screen which will list the search results. If you didn't enter anything in the Search For textbox, you will see all of your past and current courses. You also be presented with a Show Search Options link which will allow you to limit you search in a number of ways. Also, once you enter a course, a link to the course will be added to your My Courses widget under Last 10 Accessed Courses.
Every time I try to open a document in D2L, a pop-up blocker appears. What should I do?If you'd like to fix your pop-up blocker problems, please follow the steps below to keep Internet Explorer from blocking your Learn@UW-Stout pop-ups:
- Start Internet Explorer.
- Click Tools -> Internet Options and select the Privacy tab.
- In the "Pop-up Blocker" section, click Settings.
- In the "Address of Web site to allow:" field, enter the URL http's://uwstout.courses.wisconsin.edu and click Add.
Did you already try the above and still have your content blocked? Following the steps below should fix it once and for all:
- Open Internet Explorer to any web page.
- From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options...
- In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab and then click the CUSTOM button.
- Scroll down the list of custom security options to the Downloads section.
- Under "Automatic prompting for the downloads", choose Enable. Also, make sure the adjacent "File download" is set to Enable.
- Click OK on the custom settings box and then OK again on Internet Options to close the dialog box.
- Exit and restart Internet Explorer.
You can name your files whatever you want, but make sure you are not using any of the following illegal characters within your filenames: ` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & *( ) + [ ] { } | \ : ; " ' < > , ? / (space). Files containing any of these illegal characters do not open as expected. For example, a file with the name of do's_and_don'ts.pdf posted in the Content area will appear to be blank when a user opens it (even though the same file can be opened just fine within the Manage Files area). However, once this file is renamed without the apostrophes, users will be able to open it. This also holds true with files used in the Drop box and Locker areas.
If I enroll or drop a course, do I automatically get added or removed from the course class list?Yes, Learn@UW-Stout is updated on a nightly basis. If you do not see a change right away, wait overnight and check again in the morning.
