UW-Stout Scholarship
Multicultural Student Scholarship (MSS)
The University of Wisconsin-Stout has a mission and commitment to recruit, retain, and graduate students of color. The Multicultural Student Scholarship employs a holistic process for evaluating eligible applicants to include ACT/SAT scores, high school GPA, high school class rank, leadership and extracurricular activities, awards and recognition and community service.
Awards will consist of a 4-year scholarship valued at $10,000. Students will receive $2,500 each year for four years, providing they meet continued eligibility requirements of a 3.0 GPA and enroll in 12 or more credits each term. Award winners will be selected on the basis of the applicant’s ranking within the competitive pool and are not need based.
You must be enrolling for the first time at UW-Stout as a full-time, degree-seeking, first year student in fall 2010 to be eligible for this scholarship.

Chevrolet Excellence in Education Scholarship
Open to African-American students graduating from high school in the fall with minimum GPA of 3.3. See the current edition of the Guide to Historically Black Colleges and Universities by Chevrolet and EBOY for details.

ABOUT THE HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation's leading Hispanic scholarship organization, providing the Hispanic community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country. In 34 years, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund has awarded over 90,000 scholarships to students in need worth over $250M. Two-thirds of these students were the first in their families to go to college.

Wells Fargo American Indian Scholarship - Undergraduate and Graduate
This scholarship is funded by the Wells Fargo and administered by the American Indian Graduate Center. To be considered for the Wells Fargo scholarship, an applicant must:
- Be an enrolled memeber of a United States federally recognized American Indian tribe or Alaska Native group;
- Be pursuing a career and degree in fields related to banking, resort management, gaming operations, management and administration, including accounting, finance, information technology and human resources;
- Be a college junior or senior, or graduate student at a US accredited college or university as full-time and degree seeking:
- Undergraduate: Must have a cumulative average GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application and must be in your college junior or senior year.
- Graduate: Must have maintained a 3.0 GPA as an undergraduate student or have maintained a 3.0 GPA as a graduate student at the time of application.

Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF)

Prestigious Scholarships and Fellowships
- Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program
Funded by the federal government and administered by the state governments in each state. Open to high school seniors. Apply through the State education agency in their state of legal residence. Each state has its own deadlines.
- Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarships are open to US high school seniors who have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. A total of 250 scholarships are awarded each year, with 50 National Scholars receiving $20,000 scholarships and 200 Regional Scholars receiving $4,000 scholarships. Recipients are selected based on leadership, character, civic and extracurricular activities, academic excellence, and community service. This is an extremely competitive program, with more than 100,000 applications received each year. The application deadline is in late October or early November. - Collegiate Inventors Competition
Sponsored by the National Inventors Hall of Fame , the Collegiate Inventors Competition (previously known as the BFGoodrich Collegiate Inventors Program) seeks to encourage undergraduate and graduate students to pursue new ideas, processes and technological innovations. The invention must have been reduced to practice and patentable.
- Davidson Fellowships
Davidson Fellowships are awarded by the Davidson Institute for Talent Development to U.S. students under age 18 who have completed a significant piece of work in the fields of Mathematics, Science, Technology, Music, Literature, Philosophy or Outside the Box.
- Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Competition
Awards 500 four-year scholarships to high school seniors. U.S. citizenship is required. Application deadline early January. Contact your local Elks lodge for more information.
- Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
The Gilman Scholarship aims to diversify and expand participation in international study by supporting undergraduate students who have been traditionally underrepresented in study abroad. Awards of up to $5,000 are made for U.S. citizen, undergraduate students to study abroad for up to one academic year. The award may be used for tuition and fees, room and board, books, local transportation, health insurance and international airfare. The Institute of International Education (IIE) also administers two other national study abroad scholarship programs: the National Security Education Program/David L. Boren Undergraduate Scholarship (study abroad outside of Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada) and the Freeman-Asia Scholarship (study abroad in Asia ).
- Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
300 awarded scholarships cover tuition, fees, books, and room and board up to a maximum of $7,500 per year.
- Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship (NOAA)
Established by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to honor retired Senator Ernest F. Hollings of South Carolina who promoted ocean research and the study of our atmosphere. Awards provide support to full-time undergraduate students during their junior and senior year.
- The Intel Science Talent Search
One of the most prestigious scientific research competitions for high school seniors in the U.S. Winners are selected on the basis of their potential as future scientists and researchers.
- Intel International Science and Engineering Fair
The world's largest science fair. Top three finalists receive the Intel Young Scientist Scholarship of $50,000, a trip to the Nobel Prize ceremonies in Sweden , and a high performance computer.
- The Intel Student Research Contest (ISRC)
Grants awards for research projects to be conducted at their school. At the end of the project period, the students present their results to a panel of experts and meet with noted Intel researchers.
- The NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP)
Sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are interested in pursuing biomedical, behavioral and social science careers at the NIH.
- The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC)
Sponsors the National Merit Scholarships and National Achievement Scholarships programs, as well as the Special Scholarships . These are among the largest scholarship competitions in the United States . High school students enter the competitions by taking the PSAT test.

- The Ronald Reagan Future Leaders Scholarship Program
Provides scholarships to undergraduate students who demonstrate "leadership on behalf of the cause of freedom, American values and constitutional principles".
- Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships
The Rotary Foundation's Ambassadorial Scholarship program provides scholarships for study abroad. The scholarships are available for undergraduate and graduate students worldwide.
- Siemens Westinghouse Competition
The Siemens Westinghouse Competition is one of the most prestigious scientific research competitions for high school students in the United States . Students submit research reports individually or in teams of two or three. Some of the projects are selected for further competition in six regional events. One individual and one team are selected as Regional Winners and are invited to participate in the National Competition. The top individual and team winners at the National Competition receive $100,000 scholarships. The sixth through second place National Finalists receive scholarships ranging from $10,000 to $50,000. - USA Today All-USA Academic Teams
USA Today names a total of 60 students to the All-USA Academic Teams. 20 students are named to each of the first, second and third academic teams. The students on the first team receive $2,500 cash awards and are featured in a two-page spread in USA Today. There are teams for high school seniors, and full-time undergraduate students at two and four-year colleges and universities. Each school may nominate up to two students. The deadline for the College Team is December 1 and for the High School Team is in February. Winners are selected on the basis of both academic talent and leadership. - IBM PhD Fellowships
Fellowships are available to PhD students in business, chemistry, computer science, electrical engineering, materials science, mathematics, mechanical engineering and physics, as well as a variety of emerging technical fields. Fellows are matched with an IBM Mentor and are expected to intern at an IBM research or development laboratory under their mentor's guidance.
- Jacob K. Javits Graduate Fellowships
Awarded by the US Department of Education to support graduate students in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Open to undergraduate students who are about to enter graduate school and first year graduate students. Candidates must be enrolled or intend to enroll in a graduate program leading to a doctorate or terminal master's degree.
- Henry Luce Foundation Scholarship
Provide stipends and internships for 18 young Americans to live and work in Asia each year. Candidates must be U.S. citizens who have earned a bachelor's degree and are less than 30 years old.
- James Madison Junior Fellowships
Open to college seniors and recent college graduates who intend to go to graduate school on a full-time basis. Candidates must intend to become secondary school teachers of American history, American government and social studies.
- Marshall Scholarships
Highly competitive program in which up to 40 young Americans are chosen to pursue a graduate education in the United Kingdom each year. The awards are tenable at any British university and cover two years of study in any field, typically at the graduate level, leading to the award of a British university degree.
- Mellon Fellowships
Provides support for first-year doctoral students in the humanities. The fellowship covers tuition and fees and provides a stipend. The fellowships are funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation . The Woodrow Wilson Foundation also administers other fellowship programs, including the Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships in ethical or religious values in all fields of the humanities and social sciences, the Woodrow Wilson Doctoral Dissertation Grants in Women's Studies, the WW Johnson & Johnson Dissertation Grants in Women's Health,and the Thomas R. - George Mitchell Scholarships

- Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Research Fellowships
The Sloan Research Fellowships are sponsored by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Provides support and recognition to young scientists and research faculty in physics, chemistry, mathematics, neuroscience, economics, computer science and computational and evolutionary molecular biology.
- Social Science Research Council International Dissertation Research Fellowship
The Social Science Research Council and the American Council of Learned Societies sponsor the International Dissertation Field Research Fellowship (IDRF) program for graduate students in humanities and social sciences conducting doctoral dissertation field research worldwide.
- Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Provides for up to two years of graduate study in the US for "New Americans". The fellowships cover half tuition plus a maintenance grant of $20,000. New Americans include resident aliens (i.e., holders of a Green Card), naturalized U.S citizens, and the children of two parents who are both naturalized US citizens.
- Spencer Foundation Dissertation Fellowships for Research Related to Education
Open to doctoral degree candidates at graduate schools in the United States . The emphasis is on the improvement of education.
- Harry S. Truman Scholarships
Available to college juniors who are U.S. citizens and nationals who want to go to graduate school in preparation for a career in public service (government or the nonprofit and advocacy sectors). Selected on the basis of their potential as future "change agents" who will improve the ways public entities serve the public good.
- Morris K. Udall Foundation Environmental Public Policy and Conflict Resolution PhD Fellowships
Awards two PhD dissertation fellowships of $24,000 to graduate students in the areas of environmental public policy or environmental conflict resolution.

Awards grants of up to $25,000 for Dissertation Fieldwork for basic research in anthropology.

The Earl Warren Shearman & Sterling Scholarships
Applicants
must have outstanding undergraduate academic records and above average
LSAT scores. They must have mature and definitive career objective and
present evidence of exceptional university and community service.
Finalists not selected as Shearman & Sterling scholars may be
offered Earl Warren Civil Rights Training Scholarships.

Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund
In keeping with Talbots belief in the power of education, the Talbots Charitable Foundation is proud to offer a scholarship fund for women looking to pursue a college education later in life. To date, over $1 million in scholarships have been awarded to deserving women ranging in age from their late 20s to 60s.
Eligibility
Applicants to the Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund must:
- Be women currently residing in the United States or Canada;
- Be women who earned a high school diploma or their GED Be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full or part-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school;
- Be attending the full upcoming academic year; and
- Have at least two semesters (24 credit hours or more) remaining to complete an undergraduate* degree as of the beginning of the upcoming academic term.
*Students who have previously obtained a bachelor's degree are not eligible to apply.

Foreclosure Crisis Essay Scholarship
Foreclosure.com is looking for the most creative ideas on how to solve the current foreclosure crisis. And who better to call on than the most talented and innovative students in the nation. We're currently experiencing a very challenging and volatile period in real estate because of a recession that has hit homeowners everywhere very hard. It's possible that it could still get worse before it gets better.
That's the reason we're asking for your help. If you are a college student, graduate student, law student or incoming freshman for the 2010 school year and think you know "How to solve the foreclosure crisis" we want to hear from you. And we're willing to reward you for your efforts in the form of scholarship money.
Here's how the Foreclosure.com Scholarship Program works:
Submit an essay (minimum 1,000 words, maximum 2,500) that describes your solution — it must be original and not plagiarized. It's acceptable to cite sources and statistics; however, they must be referenced within the essay. The best five plans will be sent to Congress and to President Barack Obama himself.
