As a graduate student you will be conducting research on a field problem which you select. Our INMGT-700 class (Organizational Research Methods) is designed to help you prepare for your research and identify a faculty advisor. INMGT-700 is to be taken in your second to last semester, just prior to the field problems class. Learn more about the Research Paper at the Graduate School's Web site.

The library is a great source of information and excellent assistance from the staff is available. You can check out the Library Subject and Reference Guide which has gathered information relating to manufacturing engineering. If you have questions on your research projects feel free to contact Jana who assists graduates in thesis completion and other research projects.

Plan your field problem prior to registering for the Research Methods course.   Discuss possible projects with your Professors or the Program Director.  Begin the review of literature.   By the end of the Research Methods course you will have at least these:

  1. Summary of your field problem and research question(s)
  2. Literature review in APA format
  3. Plan for what you will be measuring and explain your data collection

Prior to completing the Research Methods course, your literature review and research proposal will be reviewed by faculty and we will identify your research advisor.  Then you are ready to register for the Field Problems course.
